What is your burden?
Hunting deer is an awesome experience! We all have a great deal of fun and are super excited once we harvest an animal. When the arrow, bolt, or bullet hit the mark we realize we now have a burden and it is nice to have someone to share that with! Making sure the deer gets from the woods to the table is no easy task. Just getting the deer out of the woods can be a difficult ordeal. Having a companion to shoulder the load is always helpful as two make the work easier!
Jesus tells us in Mathew 11:28-30, 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
A yoke is a crude tool used by farmers to help oxen carry a load. There are two places in a yoke for a team is needed. In life, Jesus is always there to help share the burden and give us rest. When life has you burdened, do you try and do it alone or do you turn it over to Jesus for help? Next time you feel the stress remember you share the yoke with Jesus, he is there to help lighten the load. As he says in Mathew 11:30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
What burden are you carrying? Isn't it time you give it over to the Lord to help you with the load?
